Cancellation Of Some Rabaul Flights, Sunday 08th September Only

September 4, 2019

Air Niugini wishes to advise customers that most flights to/from Tokua airport, Rabaul, on Sunday 08th September have been cancelled due to runway maintenance being carried out by the National Airports Corporation (NAC).

Following the departure of PX 241 and PX 275 out of Tokua early Sunday morning, the airport will be closed from 0730am for the rest of the day in order for NAC to carry out the runway pavement repairs.

PX202/203 on Sunday will operate to Hoskins only, whilst PX274 and PX244 are rescheduled to operate the next day. Air Niugini plans to resume normal operations to Tokua on Monday 09th September.

Meanwhile Kieta airport has been closed from 31st August to 04th September due to NAC maintenance works on the runway, and is scheduled to reopen on 5th September 2019.

Air Niugini appreciates the traveling public’s understanding on this matter, which is unfortunately beyond the airline’s control.
