Popondetta Airport(PNP). Popondetta town is Oro’s provincial capital. Oro Province, formerly known as Northern Province is one of the coastal province of Papua New Guinea. Its provincial capital is Popondetta. Oro covers 22,800 square kilometer and has a population of 133,065 inhabitants (2000 census). The province’s primary industry is Oil palm. The famous Kokoda track is found in Oro which continues to attract a lot of tourists especially Australians who regularly visit the area. The province is accessible by sea and air. Air Niugini flies to Popondetta from Port Moresby on a daily basis.
