Air Niugini has continued to expand its capacity with the arrival of its third brand new Q400 aircraft.
The Q400 arrived in Port Moresby on Wednesday March 30 after being “ferried” from manufacturers Bombardier in Canada by a team of Air Niugini pilots.
The aircraft was met by PNG Minister for State Enterprise, Honorable Arthur Somare, members of the Air Niugini Board, representatives of the ANZ Bank who financed the project, CEO of Air Niugini Mr Wasantha Kumarasiri and various other dignitaries.
The Q400 will enhance Air Niugini’s domestic services which have expanded under a recently-introduced flight schedule. On April 18, the airline will also commence an historic service to Bulolo in Morobe Province.
Air Niugini has also recently expanded its international operations and is expected to add an additional Boeing 767 to its fleet within the coming weeks.
