Air Niugini continues the execution of its fleet modernization program with the latest delivery of a Boeing 737 aircraft in Port Moresby recently.
The inclusion of P2-PXE now brings to total – three aircraft that had gone through the retrofit program, representing the most modernized fleet and offering a whole new travel experience.
Changes and improvements have been made to the aircraft’s interior cabin including seating arrangement, inflight entertainment system, toilets and gallies.
Inseat screens have been installed in both the business and economy class seats with movies in early genre, premier classics, family classics, TV documentaries, games, music and other applications.
P2-PXE has 144 seats including 128 economy class and 16 business class seats.
The business class has lie flat seats with lumbar support, foot rest and allows for more leg room, comfort and privacy for passengers. The newly designed cabin also allows for larger overhead bins/lockers for passengers to stow their hand luggage.
It’s a new way of experiencing a memorable flight with Air Niugini and the airline is committed to rolling out the retrofit program across its international Boeing fleet to ensure the same standard is maintained throughout the fleet.
The retrofit of the B767 fleet has been completed whilst the first B737 of the total three aircraft in the B737 fleet has been completed. The other two aircraft should have similar processes complete by June this year.
The retrofit lifts Air Niugini and Papua New Guinea standards in air travel. It ensures a much higher standard and comfort for customers travelling on Air Niugini Bird Of Paradise services and also to prepare our National Airline for competition.
