Air Niugini wishes to advice the travelling public that the airline has temporarily suspended all flights to Mendi airport, Southern Highlands due to unrest within the airport and surrounding areas.
The suspension comes into effect today (Tuesday, 29th Oct) and will remain until further notice.
Passengers intending to travel to Mendi can still do so via Mount Hagen. However, Air Niugini is not responsible for any transportation costs between Mount Hagen and Mendi.
Those who have already been ticketed are advised to call in at your nearest Air Niugini Sales office or travel agents to revalidate your tickets.
Safety is always of paramount importance in Air Niugini’s operation, we will always put safety first.
Air Niugini operates to Mendi every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
