Air Niugini is advising customers to avoid disappointment during the Christmas peak period by making early travel plans and then by arriving at the airport well ahead of the usual check-in time for flights.
The message is particularly aimed at customers intending to use the Domestic terminal at Jackson’s Airport in Port Moresby.
Air Niugini CEO Mr Wasantha Kumarasiri has delivered some sound advice to travelers this festive season.
“From now until the end of school vacation in February 2011 the traffic will be very hectic. We are expecting higher than normal movements of passengers and freight.
Obviously our customers will want to be with their loved ones as quickly as possible this Christmas. To help us achieve this objective, particularly within our domestic routes in Papua New Guinea we encourage our customers to arrive for their flight no later than two hours prior to departure.
This will help us process the higher than usual number of passengers and freight.
With additional aircraft we now have greater capacity and so we are expecting record numbers this Christmas”, Mr Kumarasiri said.
“Customers are also advised to observe baggage allowances, always travel with acceptable ID and observe regulations relating to dangerous goods.
This will ensure flights get away on time and that customers have an enjoyable travel experience.” he added.
