Polio Vaccination For PNG Citizens Travelling To Australia

July 27, 2018

Papua New Guineans traveling to Australia are reminded to ensure they receive polio vaccination before making any travel arrangement.

PNG has now been listed on the Global Polio Eradication website as an ‘outbreak country’ following recent polio cases identified in certain provinces.  As a result, our residents who are applying for an Australian visa, will be requested to provide evidence of polio vaccination when lodging their visa application. This requirement however, does not apply to those who have been issued visa prior to the outbreak.
