Air Niugini Commends CASA PNG on Achievement in Airbus A220 Type Rating Program

Air Niugini has congratulated the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Papua New Guinea (CASA PNG) on its recent milestone in aviation safety and workforce development.

The successful attainment of Airbus A220 Aircraft Type Ratings by CASA’s technical and operational inspectors, Airworthiness Inspector and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Mr Philip Kurivo and Manager Flying Operations, Captain Valentine Wyatt, marks a significant step forward in strengthening Papua New Guinea’s aviation capabilities.

This achievement follows their rigorous training with Air Niugini and enhances CASA’s ability to oversee this modern aircraft in PNG, which also supports the government’s efforts to develop local technical expertise and strengthen the aviation sector.

Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alan Milne commended CASA for their excellent work stating that this achievement is a testament to their dedication and professionalism to aviation safety.
