The national airline proudly celebrated the arrival of our latest addition to the fleet — the stunning Airbus A220-300, now proudly sporting our signature livery.

Registered as P2-PGC, this aircraft was brought into Port Moresby today, Thursday, 18th December. In command was our very own Captain Beverly Paki, alongside Airbus pilot Captain Thomas Oberreiter and Air Niugini pilot Captain Joachim Ortlauf, who attended as an observer.

The journey began in Montreal, Canada, on December 14th, with stops in Vancouver, Honolulu, and Fiji, before arriving in Port Moresby at 12:00 pm today.

The new A220, P2-PGC, was greeted with a traditional water salute and blessing, officially welcoming the third A220-300 into the Air Niugini fleet.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister for State-Owned Enterprises, Honourable William Duma, along with other government ministers, senior officials, diplomatic corps, senior representatives of statutory bodies, airline partners, Air Niugini Board, management, and staff.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates on this remarkable addition to our fleet.
