AIR NIUGINI FLIGHTS TO MADANG
Further to our last update on 6th July advising of the temporary suspension of Air Niugini flights to Madang from 23rd July, the National Airports Corporation (NAC) has advised that the next stage of the runway upgrading works has been delayed by three days and will now commence at 0600am on Monday 26th July.

RESUMPTION OF LINK PNG FLIGHTS TO WAPENAMANDA
Link PNG, a subsidiary of Air Niugini wishes to advise the general public that the airline will resume flights to Wapenamanda, Enga Province, commencing on Sunday 18th July, 2021. Link PNG suspended services to Wapenamanda in September 2019 to allow for major upgrade works to the runway by National Airports Corporation (NAC). These runway upgrade works have now been completed and Link PNG is pleased to be able to restore services to Wapenamanda and the surrounding communities once again.

AIR NIUGINI FLIGHTS TO MADANG & WEWAK
Air Niugini would like to inform the travelling public that the runway lengths at Madang and Wewak airports are further shortened by the National Airports Corporation (NAC) to allow for runway maintenance and upgrading works at both airports. As a result of the above, Air Niugini flights to and from Madang and Wewak are being operated by Dash-8 turboprop aircraft, operated by our subsidiary company Link PNG.

Resumption Of Fokker Jet Services To Tokua Airport And Temporary Downgrade Of Services To Nadzab
Air Niugini wishes to advise the traveling public that the airline has now resumed its Fokker jet services to Tokua airport, Rabaul effective today, Tuesday 29th June 2021. The resumption of Fokker flights follows the completion of runway repairs by the National Airports Corporation(NAC). Since the works on the airport runway commenced in February last year, Air Niugini has been operating to Tokua airport using the 76 seat Q402 and 50 seat DHC-8-315 aircraft, but with passenger numbers restricted to as few as 20 at times because of the shortened runway.

Air Niugini Trains New Travel Consultants
Air Niugini continues to resize in order to become a long term efficient, sustainable and profitable business. On Friday 18th June 2021, the airline successfully completed a two week training course for 12 new travel consultants.� The training covered mainly reservations and ticketing processes using the Sabre Reservations system that is used by many other airlines around the world. The travel consultants came from Air Niugini Sales offices in Goroka, Hoskins, Madang, Kavieng and Port Moresby. Air Niugini�s General Manager Commercial Services, Mr Dominic Kaumu was satisfied with the outcome of the training, adding that it is not only about selling tickets but gaining the confidence of customers and providing excellent customer service.

AIR NIUGINI FLIGHTS TO CAIRNS
Air Niugini would like to advise customers that the Australian Government has extended the suspension of international arrivals into Cairns until at least the 30th June. This is in order to manage the risk of arriving passengers subsequently testing positive for COVID-19 during their stay in quarantine facilities. For the period 19th – 30th June flights from PNG to Cairns have therefore had to be cancelled. Passengers holding tickets for Cairns flights over this period should contact Air Niugini or your travel agent for rebooking options.

COVID PCR TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL PASSENGERS DEPARTING FROM PORT MORESBY
Air Niugini has partnered with International SOS to deliver PCR testing at Jacksons Airport for all passengers departing on Air Niugini flights.� With International SOS having operated in Papua New Guinea for over 28 years and employing more than 400 Papua New Guinean health workers,� Air Niugini believes they are well placed to support the delivery of this testing program.�PCR testing of all international passengers departing from Port Moresby commenced on the 17th May, following its upgrade from the prior Rapid Antigen testing. Now that we have two weeks of evidence of effective implementation Air Niugini advises this test at time of check-in is considered to meet the requirement to have a COVID test within 72 hours of international travel.

LINK PNG and PNG AIR REAPPLY TO ICCC FOLLOWING EXTENDED EFFECTS OF COVID-19
Link PNG has today confirmed that it and PNG Air have reapplied to ICCC for Link PNG to acquire a minority shareholding in PNG Air.�� Both PNG Air and Link PNG believe ICCC approval of this will benefit Papua New Guinean Nationals and travellers. Link PNG Chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou, and PNG Air Chairman Mr. Augustine Mano advised that the proposed joint venture between Link PNG and MRDC is based on PNG Air remaining as an independent airline, setting its own airfares and selling its own tickets totally� separately from Air Niugini.� Both Chairman in a joint statement noted that �It�s is critical that PNG continue to have two independent airlines, PNG Air and Air Niugini, and there continue to be a strong competitive domestic market�� They added that

CHANGES TO COVID-19 TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
There are additional changes to the requirements for international travel, effective from Tuesday 20 April.� These changes will affect all passengers departing to Australia , as well as to Singapore , Hong Kong , Manila and any other Air Niugini international destinations. All passengers departing internationally will be required to be tested for Covid-19 �at time of check-in. �This is in addition to the requirement for the negative PCR test conducted within three days of travel.��
