AIR NIUGINI UPLIFTS LIFESAVING MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FREE OF CHARGE(FOC) TO LAE.
Air Niugini has partnered with the Rotary Club of Port Moresby to facilitate the uplift of essential lifesaving medical equipment to Lae, at no cost, for installation at the Tomodachi International Airport terminal at Nadzab. Two defibrillators, critical medical devices used to restore normal heart rhythms in individuals experiencing cardiac arrests, have been airlifted to Nadzab. These devices can effectively save lives by delivering an electric shock to the heart, correcting abnormal heartbeats.The Rotary Club of Port Moresby acquired this vital equipment and funded first aid training from St. Johns at the costs of K100,000. Mr. Adam Hughes, Director of Community Services at the Rotary Club, explained that the initiative arose from the realization of a significant gap in lifesaving equipment in public spaces, including courthouses and airports.

KUMUL CLUB AWARENESS IN RABAUL
Air Niugini continued with its awareness of the rebranded Kumul Club throughout the domestic ports, this time in Kokopo, East New Britain Province. The awareness was initially carried out among airline staff at the Kokopo sales office and Tokua airport. This was followed by a roadshow at Gazelle International hotel for the Kumul Club members. Staff from Air Niugini’s Destinations Loyalty Program explained to club members the rebranded Kumul club and the enhanced benefits and value adds as part of the change.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA’S FIRST AIRBUS A220 CAPTAIN
Air Niugini’s Captain Beverley Pakii continues to record milestones in the aviation industry, this time becoming the first Papua New Guinean Airbus A220 Captain after successfully completing her type rating with distinction in Montreal, Canada yesterday (18th November 2024). In fact, Captain Pakii is the first Papua New Guinean pilot to be certified onto the new aircraft.Captain Pakii is among three Air Niugini pilots who started on the Initial A220 Pilot training in Canada as part of the aircraft’s Entry Into Service(EIS). Air Niugini will welcome its first brand new A220 aircraft in September next year, coinciding with Papua New Guinea’s 50th Independence anniversary celebrations.

Air Niugini is promoting its rebranded Kumul Club passenger loyalty program throughout the domestic ports, commencing with a recent roadshow in Lae, Morobe Province. This is to inform members of the new look Kumul club following its rebranding from Executive Club in September, and the enhanced benefits and value adds as part of the change. Air Niugini’s Manager, Destinations Loyalty Program, Mr Henry Gelu said that with the arrival of the airline’s new aircraft fleet now less than ten months away, it’s an exciting time for Air Niugini and service improvements in all areas are key to its future success. Air Niugini Boeing 737-800 P2-PXC Struck by Ground Services Vehicle in Manila, Philippines
An Air Niugini Boeing 737-800 was struck by a ground services vehicle on Friday evening 16th August, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila. The Air Niugini aircraft had just arrived from Port Moresby. There were no passengers or crew aboard the aircraft when the incident occurred. The damage is to the rear lower section of the fuselage, near the cargo door.
