
Air Niugini Resumes Flight To Hoskins Airport
Air Niugini will resume operations to Hoskins airport, West New Britain effective tomorrow, Wednesday 14th August. Flight PX 244 will operate tomorrow afternoon, followed by PX 241 out of Hoskins on Thursday morning. We acknowledge the National Airports Corporation(NAC) and the business houses in Hoskins for their continuous efforts in removing the volcanic ash from the runway and taxiway.

Managing Director Alan Milne today (Wed 14th August) announced important developments for Air Niugini�s key route between Port Moresby and Cairns, North Queensland � a route which the airline has been serving continuously since 1975. He said Air Niugini has adjusted its Cairns/Port Moresby schedule to give business travelers from North Queensland the opportunity to make a same day return trip to Port Moresby from Cairns on Fridays, saving them the time and expense of overnighting in Port Moresby.

Air Niugini Suspends Operation To Buka , But Increases Flights To Kieta
Air Niugini flights to and from Buka airport in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB) have been suspended, effective from today Tuesday 13th August. The airport authority, National Airports Corporation (NAC), has closed the Buka aerodrome due to security and safety issues on the ground. The NAC closure notice is for one month until Thursday 12th September.

Air Niugini launches non-stop flights between Port Moresby and Nadi, Fiji.
Air Niugini will introduce direct Port Moresby / Nadi (Fiji) services effective Thursday 05th September 2019. The new non-stop service will initially operate once weekly and will complement the existing one-stop flight via Honiara, Solomon Islands.

Air Niugini Participate In Postal Transport Workshop
Manager, Cargo Sales and Marketing Stephanie Bawo was among 40 participants from the region who attended a recent Universal Postal Union (UPU) workshop held in Nadi, Fiji. The workshop focused mainly on postal services and the readiness to handle e-commerce. Ms Bawo on behalf of Air Niugini did a presentation on acceptance and handling of dangerous goods, a project UPU has been working on with the regional postal services for some time now.She is grateful for the opportunity to not only sell Air Niugini but also learning new things.

Resumption Of Madang Overnight Flights
Air Niugini will resume all aircraft overnighting in Madang effective tomorrow, Saturday 13th July 2019. Since the eruption of the Manam volcano on 28th June, Air Niugini had suspended all aircraft from overnighting in Madang. The situation has now improved and upon the airline�s own risk assessment, Air Niugini will now resume Madang overnight flights.

Update On Hoskins Operations – (Sat 06/07/19)
Air Niugini’s flight PX 7244 has operated into Hoskins airport, West New Britain this morning(Sat 06th July). This will be followed by a second flight, PX 209 this afternoon. This flight will determine the operation of Hoskins flights from tomorrow onwards. Air Niugini will continue to suspend flights overnighting in Hoskins. These flights will be rescheduled to operate the following day.

Hoskins Update – Bulletin No.5
Air Niugini’s flight, PX 7244/241 to Hoskins airport today, Monday 01st July has been cancelled. In addition, PX208 will not stop at Hoskins but will operate from Port Moresby to Lae and Rabaul. This follows a review of Hoskins operations yesterday(Sunday 30th June) which showed that there is still an unacceptable level of volcanic ash around the runway and taxiway.

Air Niugini flights to and from Hoskins Airport, West New Britain Province continues to be suspended following the eruption of Mt Ulawun yesterday. The airport authority, National Airports Corporation has issued a notice to airmen (NOTAM) advising the temporary closure of the Hoskins aerodrome.

Mount Hagen Services Downgraded Effective From Sunday 23rd June 2019
Air Niugini services to Kagamuga airport, Mt Hagen Western Highlands Province will be operated by Link PNG Dash-8 aircraft from Sunday 23rd June until further notice. This is due to maintenance works on the runway by the National Airports Corporation (NAC). NAC has scheduled the next stage (Stage 4) of runway maintenance works to commence on 23rd June 2019, which means the runway will be temporarily shortened and therefore restricted to Dash-8 operations.

Air Niugini is ready to operate Cairns/Hong Kong route via Port Moresby using its wide body Boeing 767 aircraft, commencing in October this year.�Managing Director, Alan Milne made the airline�s capabilities known during a meeting with business leaders in Cairns recently.Air Niugini�s offer to take up the Cairns/Hong Kong route followed an earlier announcement by Cathay Pacific to cease flights on that route by October this year after operating for 25 years.
