UATP Prepaid Account Terms & Conditions
1. Prepaid Account – General
1.1 The minimum amount required to open a prepaid account is K1,000.00.
1.2 A minimum account balance of K200.00 must be maintained at all times. Payment must be made upon receipt of the billing statement.
1.3 Air Niugini will send billing statements via email to support tickets issued and services provided. The Account Holder is responsible for maintaining their own records.
1.4 Requests for additional documents, other than invoices issued with billing statements, will incur a document fee per copy.
1.5 Accounts with balances of K200.00 or below with no activity for over one (1) year will be automatically closed. An EMD will be issued to the cardholder, or the remaining balance will be refunded to the sponsor after deducting any outstanding debts owed to Air Niugini.
1.6 All tickets issued upon receipt of authorized purchase orders or through online booking procedures will be charged to the account, regardless of travel status. The UATP Account Holder agrees to all charges and payments due as per the invoice issued by Air Niugini.
1.7 Where currency conversion is required, an appropriate exchange rate in accordance with the Air Transport Industry will be applied.
1.8 Any queries or disputes must be submitted in writing within 60 days of receiving the billing statement. The notice must clearly state the reason and the disputed amount.
1.9 Refunds for unused tickets (full or partial), due to circumstances beyond the passenger’s control, will be processed in accordance with applicable tariff provisions. Refunds will only be made after submission of a cancellation notice or refund request and confirmation of ticket status.
2. Payment of UATP Account and Fees
2.1 Services may be charged to the UATP Account up to the available approved balance.
2.2 Air Niugini reserves the right to adjust charges retrospectively in cases of errors, timing differences, or incorrect entries.
2.3 The Account Holder must maintain the required minimum balance at all times.
2.4 If the minimum balance requirement is not met, or clause 2.2 applies, Air Niugini may, at its sole discretion:
- (i) Suspend the UATP Account; and/or
- (ii) Terminate the UATP Account and all associated cards.
2.5 Air Niugini may offset any amounts owed by the Account Holder against any amounts payable to the Account Holder by Air Niugini or its related companies. This right survives account termination.
2.6 All statements will be sent via email. Requests for paper statements will incur a fee.
2.7 Fees applicable at the time of the latest update are outlined in the attached schedule and may be amended from time to time.
3. Use of UATP Card Account
3.1 UATP cards may be used for:
- (i) Travel on Air Niugini and related operators
- (ii) Excess baggage charges
- (iii) Travel on other airlines accepting UATP cards (see www.uatp.com)
- (iv) Other eligible services as determined by Air Niugini
3.2 All travel is subject to Air Niugini tariffs, Conditions of Carriage, and applicable fare rules.
3.3 UATP cards remain the property of Air Niugini and are valid only for the stated period. The Account Holder accepts liability for all charges incurred.
3.4 Lost or stolen cards must be reported immediately by calling:

Written confirmation must follow within 7 days. The Account Holder remains liable for all charges until notification is received.
3.5 The Account Holder is responsible for all actions of employees, agents, or third parties managing the account.
3.6 The Account Holder must ensure all card users comply with these Terms and Conditions.
3.7 Reasonable precautions must be taken to prevent misuse of cards.
3.8 Refunds will only be credited to the UATP Account and are subject to applicable fees and conditions.
3.9 Requests to close an account must be submitted in writing along with all cards. Closure will occur within three (3) business days.
4. Termination
4.1 Air Niugini may suspend or terminate the account without notice if:
- (i) Terms are breached
- (ii) The account is misused
- (iii) Payment guarantees lapse
- (iv) False information is provided
- (v) The Account Holder becomes insolvent or ceases operations
4.2 Air Niugini may terminate the account at any time without prior notice or reason.
4.3 Upon termination, all cards must be returned immediately. Outstanding balances become immediately payable.
5. Amendments
5.1 Air Niugini may amend these Terms and Conditions with 30 days’ notice via email, billing statements, or website publication:

Continued use of the card constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
6. Miscellaneous
6.1 Air Niugini may assign its rights or obligations without prior approval. The Account Holder may not assign without written consent.
6.2 If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
6.3 Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
6.4 These Terms are governed by the laws of Papua New Guinea.
7. Definitions
Account Holder / You / Your – The person or organization holding the UATP Account.
Account Limit – The maximum allowable account usage per billing period.
Air Niugini / We / Our – Air Niugini Limited.
Applicant – The person or entity applying for the account.
Business Day – Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (excluding public holidays in Papua New Guinea).
Corporate UATP Card – A card issued to companies or organizations.
EMD – Electronic Miscellaneous Document used for travel services.
GST – Goods and Services Tax under PNG law.
Late Payment Fee – Fee applied to overdue accounts.
Other Agreement – Any separate agreement with Air Niugini or related companies.
Paper Statement Fee – Fee for requesting printed statements.
Paper Document Fee – Fee for printed document requests.
Personal UATP Card – A card issued to an individual associated with the Account Holder.
Related Company – As defined under the Companies Act 1997.
Services – Travel and related services eligible under the UATP program.
Sponsor – The entity that provides the initial deposit.
UATP Account – The prepaid account used for transactions.
UATP Card Holder – The individual or entity issued a UATP card.
UATP Card – A payment card under the Universal Air Travel Plan program.
