Papua New Guinea Digital Arrival Card (PNGDAC)
Everything You Need to Know Before Entering Papua New Guinea
The Papua New Guinea Digital Arrival Card (PNGDAC) is a new mandatory online form introduced by the Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Authority (ICA), effective 1 October 2025.
It replaces the traditional paper Incoming Passenger Card (IPC) and is now a required step for all travellers entering Papua New Guinea.
The PNGDAC simplifies border processing, strengthens security, and supports public health management — ensuring a faster, smoother arrival experience at Jacksons International Airport (Port Moresby) and other international gateways.
Who Needs to Complete the PNGDAC
✅ All travellers entering Papua New Guinea — citizens, residents, and visitors — must complete the PNG Digital Arrival Card before arriving in the country.
Failure to do so may cause delays at immigration clearance or at airport kiosks.
When to Complete the PNGDAC
Travellers can submit their PNGDAC information up to 72 hours before their arrival in Papua New Guinea.
Early submission is strongly recommended to avoid queues and processing delays upon entry.
How to Complete Your PNGDAC
1. Online Submission (Recommended)
- Visit the official website: pngdac.ica.gov.pg
- Click “Submit PNGDAC”
- Complete the online form using a laptop, tablet, or smartphone
- Review and submit your details
- You’ll receive a confirmation email with your PNGDAC reference
2. Self-Service Kiosks (Upon Arrival)
If you haven’t completed the PNGDAC before travelling, you can use Digital Arrival Kiosks at Jacksons International Airport (POM).
However, this option may result in longer processing times during busy arrival periods.
Important Notes
- The PNGDAC is not a visa — travellers must still meet all standard entry and visa requirements.
- The service is free of charge and applies to both individual and group submissions.
- Travellers must present their passport and PNGDAC confirmation to immigration officers upon arrival.
- The PNGDAC can be updated online anytime before arrival if your travel details change.
Why This Matters
Since its launch, ICA has reported that many passengers — especially on Australian routes (Brisbane, Sydney, Cairns) — arrive without completing the PNGDAC, leading to delays and congestion at airport kiosks.
To ensure a seamless arrival experience, Air Niugini strongly urges all passengers to complete their PNGDAC online before departure.
