
Air Niugini Announces Customer Aircraft Support Centre
Air Niugini plans to become a key player in global airline servicing in a move that will significantly contribute to the Papua New Guinea economy with the introduction of the Air Niugini Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) facility. The initiative is being driven by Managing Director Alan Milne, whose engineering background identified huge potential in the talent within the Air Niugini engineering and maintenance teams. Mr Milne said PNG’s geographic location, talent and infrastructure made it a logical option for airline servicing for operators in Australia, Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Commencement Of Non-Stop Port Moresby-Nadi Service
Air Niugini�s new nonstop service to Nadi, Fiji commenced today Thursday 05th September, 2019. With a flight time of just over 4.5 hours the new nonstop flight offers the fastest route between PNG and Fiji. The flight is operated by Boeing 737 aircraft offering complimentary individual in-flight entertainment in every seat, as well as Air Niugini�s famous on board hospitality. PX086 departs POM at 0955am on Thursdays (Saturdays from 02 November), arriving in Nadi at 1645pm � early enough to connect with Fiji Airways domestic flights to Suva or longer haul destinations in the USA.

Cancellation Of Some Rabaul Flights, Sunday 08th September Only
Air Niugini wishes to advise customers that most flights to/from Tokua airport, Rabaul, on Sunday 08th September have been cancelled due to runway maintenance being carried out by the National Airports Corporation (NAC). Following the departure of PX 241 and PX 275 out of Tokua early Sunday morning, the airport will be closed from 0730am for the rest of the day in order for NAC to carry out the runway pavement repairs.

More Direct Flights For Momase
Air Niugini has increased flights to Vanimo airport and along the Momase coast commencing this week. The direct flights between Port Moresby and Vanimo have increased from two to three weekly flights, operating every Monday, Wednesday and Friday while the Vanimo/Port Moresby direct flights are every Tuesday Thursday, and Saturday. Flights along the north coast of Momase connecting Lae, Madang, Wewak and Vanimo have also increased from two to three weekly services.

Smart Ideas Winners Receive Awards
Air Niugini continues to recognize and award staff members who contribute best ideas towards the Smart Ideas campaign, which is part of the four pillars under the airline�s Higher Altitude Program. On Friday, six staff from various departments within the airline were awarded for contributing their best ideas during June and July this year. Most winning ideas centered around reduction of aircraft fuel consumption to tax exemption for tourists� fares, sale of travel insurance and establishment of Port Moresby based IATA training facility among others.

Air Niugini Resumes Flight To Hoskins Airport
Air Niugini will resume operations to Hoskins airport, West New Britain effective tomorrow, Wednesday 14th August. Flight PX 244 will operate tomorrow afternoon, followed by PX 241 out of Hoskins on Thursday morning. We acknowledge the National Airports Corporation(NAC) and the business houses in Hoskins for their continuous efforts in removing the volcanic ash from the runway and taxiway.

Managing Director Alan Milne today (Wed 14th August) announced important developments for Air Niugini�s key route between Port Moresby and Cairns, North Queensland � a route which the airline has been serving continuously since 1975. He said Air Niugini has adjusted its Cairns/Port Moresby schedule to give business travelers from North Queensland the opportunity to make a same day return trip to Port Moresby from Cairns on Fridays, saving them the time and expense of overnighting in Port Moresby.

Air Niugini Suspends Operation To Buka , But Increases Flights To Kieta
Air Niugini flights to and from Buka airport in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB) have been suspended, effective from today Tuesday 13th August. The airport authority, National Airports Corporation (NAC), has closed the Buka aerodrome due to security and safety issues on the ground. The NAC closure notice is for one month until Thursday 12th September.

Air Niugini Participate In Postal Transport Workshop
Manager, Cargo Sales and Marketing Stephanie Bawo was among 40 participants from the region who attended a recent Universal Postal Union (UPU) workshop held in Nadi, Fiji. The workshop focused mainly on postal services and the readiness to handle e-commerce. Ms Bawo on behalf of Air Niugini did a presentation on acceptance and handling of dangerous goods, a project UPU has been working on with the regional postal services for some time now.She is grateful for the opportunity to not only sell Air Niugini but also learning new things.

Resumption Of Madang Overnight Flights
Air Niugini will resume all aircraft overnighting in Madang effective tomorrow, Saturday 13th July 2019. Since the eruption of the Manam volcano on 28th June, Air Niugini had suspended all aircraft from overnighting in Madang. The situation has now improved and upon the airline�s own risk assessment, Air Niugini will now resume Madang overnight flights.
