AIR NIUGINI AND PNG TOURSIM PROMOTION AUTHORITY IN A JOINT EFFORT TO BOOST DOMESTIC TOURISM.
The PNG Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA) in an effort to stimulate domestic tourism has provided half a million kina to Air Niugini as travel subsidy to promote domestic tourism in the country through the airline�s extensive range of existing tour packages. �Of the total K500,000, half of that money will go towards promotions in the domestic market while the other half will be used to support and promote the inbound Australian tourism market.

AIR NIUGINI RESUMES FOKKER JET SERVICES TO KAVIENG
Air Niugini wishes to advise the travelling public that the airline will resume its Fokker jet services to Kavieng airport, New Ireland Province effective from Monday 1st August 2022. The resumption of Fokker flights follows the completion of runway maintenance and upgrading works by the National Airports Corporation (NAC). Since the works on the airport runway commenced over a year ago, Air Niugini has been operating to Kavieng using smaller Dash-8 aircraft, but with passenger numbers restricted to as few as 20 at times because of the shortened runway.

Air Niugini has resumed flights to Kagamuga Airport, Mt Hagen this morning (Wednesday 13th July). The first flight departed just before 9am, this will be followed by another four flights throughout the day. Those passengers who were disrupted from yesterday will be accommodated on flights from today.

SUSPENSION OF FLIGHTS TO WAPENAMANDA AIRPORT
Air Niugini wishes to advise our valued customers that the airline has suspended flights to Wapenamanda airport, Enga Province, effective Friday 08th July until further notice. The decision to suspend flights follows the vandalization of the airport runway last night, which has resulted in NAC closing the airport and poses an unacceptable safety risk to the travelling public, our staff, aircraft, and property. The flight suspension is for an indefinite period.

AIR NIUGINI RESUME DIRECT SERVICES TO SOLOMON ISLANDS AND FIJI
Air Niugini wishes to advise the travelling public that effective from 06th August 2022 the airline will resume direct services to Honiara, Solomon Islands, and Nadi, Fiji. The resumption of services has been made possible by the relaxing of border restrictions in the two countries, and flights will initially operate once a week in each direction.

CHANGES IN DEPARTURE REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA
Air Niugini is pleased to advise travellers to Australia that from Tuesday 05th July they are no longer required to complete the Australia Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD), nor will they be required to produce Covid-19 Proof of Vaccination at check-in. Likewise, PNG citizens who have chosen not to be vaccinated are also now able to travel from Australia to PNG (and return). �With the world now moving to relax many of the Covid-19 restrictions, this signals a return to the freedom to travel that we all enjoyed in the past� said Paul Abbot, Air Niugini�s General Manager (GM) Commercial. �The removal of the Proof of Vaccination documents now frees up un-vaccinated travellers to move freely between Papua New Guinea and Australia, with travel being just as seamless as prior to Covid-19�

INFLIGHT MAGAZINE�S RETURN A SIGN THAT PNG IS BACK IN BUSINESS
Air Niugini�s award-winning inflight magazine, Paradise, will finally return to Air Niugini flights in September, after a hiatus of more than two years caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Production of the magazine, which is placed on board Air Niugini flights, was suspended in April 2020. �Paradise has a special place in PNG culture. Since its earliest days, just after PNG�s Independence, it has been a window through which visitors to our country have discovered and explored PNG, and Papua New Guineans have learned about their own country,� says Air Niugini�s Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Alabaster.

More Post PNG branches throughout the country are now able to sell Air Niugini tickets – thanks to continuous ticketing agents� training. Eleven staff from various postal branches throughout the country recently attended a week-long training at Air Niugini�s Training Centre at 7mile in Port Moresby. They included staff from Mendi, Kundiawa, Kerema, Wabag, Mt Hagen, Jiwaka, Kainantu and Port Moresby�s Konedobu, Rainbow, Boroko and Brian Bell Plaza branches.

Air Niugini has resumed flights to Kagamuga airport, Mt Hagen this morning(� Friday 13th May) after closely monitoring and assessing the situation on the ground.Flight PX 180 departed Port Moresby after 9am, this will be followed by three others flights today, PX 182, PX 184 and PX 188.
