AIR NIUGINI : UPDATE ON OPERATIONS TO LAE/NADZAB AND KIUNGA AIRPORTS.

September 2, 2022

Air Niugini received a letter from PNG CASA at 9:04pm this evening (Friday, 2nd September, 2022) instructing it not to recommence flights to either Nadzab or Kiunga airports. Specifically the letter states “For the above reasons, you are not allowed to fly into Nadzab and Kiunga aerodromes”.
Consequently Air Niugini wishes to advise our valued customers that we are unable to resume flights to Nadzab or Kiunga, as was planned.
Air Niugini will resume services as soon as we are allowed to, and it is safe to do so, but is presently uncertain when this will be. We will advise as soon as we are aware of when we are allowed to resume flights.
Air Niugini regrets the inconvenience caused, however the situation is beyond the airline’s control.
Our customers are advised to revalidate their travel to the next available flight, once the reopening date is known.
