Closure Of Wapenamanda Airport

Air Niugini flights to Wapenamanda Airport in Enga Province will be suspended as of 19th September 2019.

The National Airports Corporation is closing the airport to allow runway maintenance work to commence.

The duration of work will take up to 12 months hence the last flight to Wapenamanda will be on September 16, 2019.

During the period of the closure, all flights will operate out of  Kagamuga Airport in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands Province.

Air Niugini operates up to four flights weekly between Port Moresby and Wapenamanda on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and up to six flights a day between Port Moresby and Mount Hagen.

Air Niugini regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates the traveling public’s understanding.
